Nice Bordeaux style wine. Rich dark fruit, dark plums, blueberries, blackberries, dark cherries, vanilla, light smokiness and smidge of dust, meaty. Could benefit from a touch more acidity. Nice wine.

Pleasant surprise. Blueberry and leather aromas yield to a soft feminine style with black fruit, black coffee, cured meat and a smooth lingering finish. 82% Merlot, 18% Cab Sauv.

Fascinating taste and smell. Orange tea, white peach, and rooibos on the nose. Lemongrass, fancy ketchup, molasses, and mole on the palette.

2010. Killer Merlot with just a little Cab thrown in for structure. Soos Creek draws from all the big heavy hitter vineyard sites, but keeps prices in check. Seek them out. 2010 vintage.

Checking in on my favorite domestic merlot, I will have more patience to wait for the next bottle, but I had to share this with some friends. There's almost some tertiary coffee notes beginning to emerge, but it's still mostly dark blueberries and plums, with some spice, black pepper, and black currant (from the 11% cab showing through). Still so fresh and full, we really should wait 5 years until we taste again.
