The wine is quite pale, mostly a very faint yellow with a hint of green at times. Its nose offers up more citrus than stone fruit, but both are well-represented. The fruit steals the show on the palate, too, although the acidity is quite racy and makes a case for itself as the lead. There are wonderful spice notes that come through in aromas and flavors. Oak is handled tastefully and the finish is long and supple.

Very rich aromas of buttered popcorn and oak. Fruit flavor is very subtle. I can see the goal of this wine and they’ve hit it. Not my preferred Chardonnay to drink, but was a nice glass. Well made.

Aged surprisingly well - and definitely a more interesting wine with the primary aromas blown off a little bit. Full, round, surprisingly rich.

Opening the Sonoma-Cutrer 2013 Les Pierres Chardonnay (their premium Chardonnay), I noticed aromas of stone and citrus fruits with oak spice. The wine was crisp with apple, pear and lemon zest, good balance with toasty oak, nice but not complex. Good length on the finish ends with sweet mineral tones. You should also visit the Sonoma-Cutrer website as they have a bunch of interesting recipes you can download and try.

Delicious. Crisp minerality and booking acidity compared to the rest of this winery. Some rich butterscotch and hints of oak, but noticeably more old world influenced.
