Starting to see more beautiful wines from the Margaret River and this is a stellar example of Australian Chardonnay. (This one is an appellation blend of 65% Margaret River and 35% Pemberton) but they are based out of the Margaret River.
13% Alcohol - medium malo, bright acidity
👃flint/crushed rocks, honeydew, green apple skin, vanilla creme
👅pineapple, golden apple, lemon zest and oil, white pepper, mineral, mousse
Excellent balance between the fruit and the acidity, could have some age potential, with minimal development due to it being a screw cap, but it could still use a few years to become a tad softer.
Australia is probably my favorite wine making region this year for sure. A must try.

How utterly good does this combo sound. Snake + Herring 2017 ‘Tough Love’ Chardonnay from WA and pickled rainbow trout 🤤🤤
I received this bottle in my recent sample pack from Wine Selectors (thank you!!) which is part of their Chef & The Cellar 2020 Calendar Collection. You get 12 wines + a calendar with 12 matching recipes inside. It’s a wine and food lovers heaven 😋
You can currently buy the case at a discounted rate + TC readers get an extra $10 off (check out the link in my bio for more details)! Swipe across to see some more pics.
Now back to the Chardonnay - and oh boy did it go down well 🙌 It’s made from Chardonnay grapes 🍇 from the Margaret River, Great Southern and Pemberton regions.
💛 Wild fermentation
💛 Barrel & tank fermentation
💛 Aged on lees
All the above make for a really yummy wine from its yellow-good shade in the glass to the vanillin oak, spiced grapefruit and nectarines coming through on the nose. In the mouth it’s creamy and bright with wonderful fruit acidity and a bitter sweet limey grapefruit finish 👌
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
