Deep mix of garnet and ruby red. Layered nose with a savory attack, spices, white pepper, a little bit of sweet spices and a touch perfumey. Strong acidity and medium tannins (6.5/10), needs to balance out a tad. Dark fruits on the attack with some dark spices, and some savory notes like gravel, dirt and black pepper. Medium body but almost rich in texture. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2024.

I always enjoy finding odd wines from out of the way places. From the Sierra foothills, this wine is lively with a lot of length and character and a lot of tannin left that should help this age a few more years.

A Southern Rhone blend most likely as Gigondas appellation. Dry and fruity like dark skin cherry. Nutmeg spice in the palate and a beautiful long finish and layers of strawberry and sweet tobacco. I paired it with fish soup
