2013 vintage.
Mourvedre shines here. Black olives, mediterranean garrigue, blackberry, white pepper and cloves backed up by spicy syrah character.
Savoury, plump still elegant.

Soft, full of fruit. First Western Australian Rhone style for us, will definitely explore more.

This CdP tribute (55% Mataro, 40% Shiraz, 5% Grenache) to Pope Clement V is simply lovely, rich, youthful darkfruits and a solid structure that suggests 5-7 years of cellaring is in order, medium-long, lingering finish, very fine GSM blend!!

As an aside, we were lucky enough to make it to singlefile Wines this afternoon and taste the full range being poured, the 2022 Family Reserve Chardonnay (the wine they’re known for) was outstanding, as was their 2022 Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon, and pricing was VERY reasonable — only problem is that don’t export to the U.S. — Oh well. . . .
