Purple-red, light to moderately extracted pigment, good clarity. Funk, raspberry and white pepper notes in nose. Blueberry, blackberry, some cola, plus umami and a touch of saline flavors. Light medium-weight tannins in finish. Tannins soften fairly rapidly, 30 minutes. An interesting variation from his Oregon pinots, but solid in its own right.

Fabulous. All the elements of a very well-made pn plus an Interesting Howell Mtn Zin-esque white pepper (but without the heat and weight of Zinfandel). This characteristic made it particularly exciting.

Nose currently reduced. Palate fresh, bright, juicy. Fine tannins.

My first experience with pinot from NZ. Darker than any other pinot I've had, with a bit more body and tannin also. Seemed overly extracted to me as a result. But, there were still the classic pinot aromas and flavors present: cranberry, strawberry, cherry cola, spice, and black tea. 100% Pinot Noir. 11/13/22.

Might have waited a little too long on this Central Otago NZ Pinot. Tart cherry, wild berries and some funky mocha (in a good way). Add a spice finish. Still drank plenty fine but might have peaked a year ago.

Smokiness on the nose overpowers at first but then leads to a nice combination of red fruits and baking spices. Fresh tasting with medium acidity.

Ripe fruit with faint spice. Needs time to open up.

Cross between ripe Oregon Pinot with a touch of cool mtn zin like spice, good acid balance, oak in check, quite pleasurable
