Think funky cab franc, spicy pinot, or super earthy beauj. A lot going on here

Raspberry and stuff. Pretty solid. Reminded me of brighter style Red Zin

My first ever wine from Vermont. Gorgeous on the nose with roses, tar and cherry blossom. On the palate there is a lot less going on. The initially vibrant fruit faded quickly to reveal a ferrous quality. Thanks @Julia Geisler for the chance to try such an interesting wine. Vermont. Who knew?

Not an overwhelming wine but it reflects the Vermont lifestyle pretty clearly — relaxed, pleasant, but overall unexciting (not a bad thing). Somebody spiked the cherry juice. This was $30 and I would absolutely buy again, it would be perfect for a light drama-free dinner party with friends (vs. the drama of an intense red).
Edit: there’s an almost caramel smell left in the glass, delicious (I’m hungry)

Medium body, medium aroma, crisp on the tongue, moderately dry. Tannins medium, finishes with oak and pepper spice, some black cherry. 15 months in Oak plus 12 months in bottle. Vermont grapes.
