There's a flirtation with old school Bordeaux in this well aged bottling, showing cedar and lead pencil notes, adding complexity to its ripe fruit character. Resolved tannins and great overall balance.

Pretty fine, the claret like 2006 Seghesio Family Wine Single Vineyard San Lorenzo Zinfandel was showing really well last night. At seven years, out of a 1.5 liter bottle, the wine has come to its apex of its life. Showing soft berries and a faint accent of vanilla, this is exactly where I had hoped the wine would be at this age. In this double format bottle, this wine could continue to age another few years, but probably would not have gotten much better. I shared this one with a bunch a great friends and colleagues last evening in a secret 50th birthday party for my long time good pal Brian Bowden. Seghesio's San Lorenzo vineyard is considered one of California's top zinfandel vineyards. 😏#wine #redwine #zinfandel #sonomacounty #alexandervalley #agedzinfandel #magnum #peakdrinking #singlevineyard

This is drinking beautifully right now and still has more time: this is more brute than elegant for sure: muscular dense concentrated: jam packed with layers & layers of pure cherry fruit in virtually every form. Offset by spice, pepper & decomposed soil - this is well-knit but not graceful. Really felt the heat (15.4), still scratched the itch for legit Cali Zin

Rich bold Zin, little chalky, dusty almost then comes in the medium to bold fruit, will continue to open up

Fine, dark, rich Zin for a balance w/the chicken livers irony flavors. Compliments mustard and garlic w/a great finish. Bold bottle for the price.

I really can't get into their wines. Too much alcohol on the finish.
