I’ve been a fan of these bubbles for a long time, and was happy to grab a few late disgorged of this and the JSchram.
In all honesty, this came across so much more BdB/JSchram than I ever expected. When comparing to the 2010 Reserve I had last year, this came across much more crisp, bright and chard heavy as opposed to Pinot. Hardly any nougat, roasted cashews, etc. Much more lemon scone, pear, white peach, tiny bit of ginger, and white chocolate. Gorgeous layers and mousse.
Kudos to the team keeping this as fresh as it is after disgorging in 2021. I normally prefer the Reserve early, but based on this, this will cruise 10-15+yrs easy.

Day 4 in Napa in the books! Running a day behind on notes...Napa time runs slow AND fast!
Another great LD bottle. I could pick up some of the bright, red fruit like rhubarb and bing cherry from this being more BdN in style, but everything is honeyed at this stage. Marzipan sweetness and nectarine.

As good of a sparkler as I have ever had. This should be the archetype for all Pinot based sparkling wines. Perfect carbonation. Acidity is well balanced. Toasty.
