Schramsberg Vineyards
Crémant Demi-Sec Flora Blend
Popped and poured. This was a huge surprise. The bubbles are tiny, almost non-existent. The fruit is round and quite delicious and yet it’s the acid that should get all the praise here because it does a remarkable job of balancing out the 42g/L RS. About as balanced and enjoyable as Demi-Sec as I can recall.

Oct 18th, 2023Deep gold. Fine persistent bubbles. Light inviting nose and juicy rich palate of golden delicious apple and toast with a hint of honeysuckle on the finish. Mouthwatering acidity balances but doesn't obliterate the richness of the dosage. Finish is short, but no shorter than expected. Drink it when you buy it, of course.

Dec 26th, 2022Cremant has tropical and berry fruit with biscuit aromas. The palate shows apricot, pear and mango flavors, somebody yeasty notes with rich fresh texture. Tangy lingering finish, champagne like, refreshing ending with gentle sweetness. Consistent quality. Tasting Sample.

71% Flora, 16% PN, 13% Chardonnay.
14% fermented in barrels.
I’m a longtime fan of Schramsberg but their pricing is starting to become an issue for me compared to the “real thing” (read: that small region in NE France).
At around $40 this is not exactly a screaming deal.

Light golden hue. Aromas of baked apples with hints of lemon and toast. Soft and creamy on the palate. A bit sweet to be an aperitif but would go well with spicy Asian fare or dessert. Blend of 85% Flora (a California cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer), 9% Pinot Noir, and 6% Chardonnay. 13.4% ABV.
