This is a very expensive bottle and it pales against many of the wines I’ve had today. It’s not palate fatigue.
The fruit is nice, the balance, length, structure and tension are good. There is just no wow factor and there should be at this price point.
Blackberries, black cherries, strawberries, dark spice, crushed rocks, black licorice to anise, dry dark soil, volcanic minerals, dry herbs, mint-eucalyptus, bright red florals, good acidity with balance and polish on the long finish.

Points! A huge Napa cab, but thankfully, free of overripe, pruney notes. Nice acid on the palate to balance the ripeness. Not showing any age, so might be one of those wines that simply gets older.

How does this wine rate a 9.0? Schrader has consistently been one of the best wines made over the last 15-20 years - hands down. Compared to the $500+ bottles, these are a true bargain off the allocation list - if you can get them. Great wine!
