Lieu-Dit Harth Cuvée Caroline Gewurztraminer

Love this wine. I know Gewurz is out of style these days, and you can’t drink it all the time, but, damn, I get these cravings for it sometimes. This one’s nose is a bit more complex than lots of Gewurz’s. A feral muskiness, along with orchids and lychee nut. Also a nice note of stony minerality. On the palate it has nice concentration and a sensuous texture. Ripe fruit up front that turns minerally and a little savory in the extended finish. Slightly sweet, but there is a slight bitter note in the finish that plays against it. I really like this.

Much sweeter than I was led to believe. But the fruit and aromatics are lovely.

Honey - baked pear - ginger and saffron lends itself to botrytis. Huge lychee on nose and palate, but lacks the aromatic white flowers of Gewurtz. Oily texture. Perfect w Thai

Whoa. Huge honey, flowers, honeysuckle on the nose. Amazing. Somewhat mineral on the nose which is surprising. Definitely getting some white rose. On the palate, big honey, stewed peach, amazing body. Extremely balanced all around.
