Still robust on the nose; very Piedmontese. Soft and elegant on the palate.

1999 vintage. Never had a Friesa this old(!) That Friesa is a progenitor of Nebbiolo finally makes sense. The candied strawberry takes a back seat to earthy, forest floor, lavender and violets.

Not a lot of experience with 100% Freisa with age, this was killer. The wild and rustic tannins have shown some integration, yet their grainy appeal is still there. Crushed strawberries and fruit leather mixed up with alpine amaro herbs, sweet and bitingly bitter at the same time. Earthy. Crushed our pizza dinner at Cotogna

Black plum, black cherry, savory dried herbs, thyme, oregano, hint of licorice, med plus acidity, med to med plus tannin, med body. Matured. Very delicious. Enjoyed with Korean style grilled steak and pork belly.

Black berries, spices, anise, crushed flowers, very fresh and polished tanins. A really good Freisa on a very nice vintage. To drink or hold.

Crazy value for the price point. Fruit-driven, sturdy, balanced. It honestly tastes like a $100 bottle.

Admit it, SB. You will not find a Dolcetto you like. So drink Scarpa Freisa instead

Oldest Freisa I have tasted. Held up well and interesting to drink but makes me think it should be drunk sooner
