Nose v reductive at this stage, even with air - not giving much away! One thing I will say, however, is that this wine’s aromas transport me to the coast of Spain; perhaps it’s a slight likeness to Albariño, not sure. But it makes me want a plate of grilled seafood!
On the contrary, the palate is a real extrovert, with an immediate hit of juicy fresh lime, Granny Smith apple, peach and bitter lemon. This wine is Sauvignon led (64%), and it shows, but there is a hint of orange peel and gentle tannin from the 16% Chenin in the blend, along with an underlying impression of wet gravel. Semillon makes up the other 20%, though you might not notice it.
Overall, this is a promising first look at Duncan Savage’s flagship white, a wine that will doubtless repay cellar time, and one I’ve really enjoyed despite my general aversion to Sauvignon Blanc. I look forward to trying this again in a year or two.

Drinks like top tier white Bordeaux. Waxy, ripe, and unctuous. A fantastic and intriguing wine!

Excellent blend by Duncan Savage. Crisp, fresh,, strong minerals, and tropical fruits. Lime yellow color. Excellent....what a wine!

A South African Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chenin Blanc blend by winemaker Duncan Savage, it pours a beautiful lime straw yellow into the glass with a bold and expressive aroma of lemon rind, candied pineapple and a hint of dusty gravel road. The Chenin really shines through on the palate with a distinctive, unctuous South African feel characterized with flavours of white peach, grapefruit & tangerine, I kept getting a hint of white pepper with a lush oaky vanilla on the finish. Very complex and highly recommended ❤️
