Sandeman
Fine Tawny Porto
I hear their aged tawny's can be pretty good, but this was just dreadful. Plain, oxidative, and overly sweet. Only served to reaffirm my disinclination to port.

Apr 27th, 2020The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman. A lighter style port with lots of flavor. Amber color with aromas of sweet dried fruits and nutty notes. On the palate sweet red fruit in a oak wrapper, some vanilla and ending with a nutty raisin aftertaste. Nice value.

1 person found it helpfulMar 29th, 2017I have no business judging a port wine since this one was my first (that I remember) so I have nothing for reference to compare it to. But I won't let that stop me. This port was the portiest port I've ever had. In fact, I'd be hard-pressed to think of another port I enjoyed more. I would definitely buy this again but I would never buy a different port as this one has ruined me for all others.
