It’s been ages since dipping into Montalcino. What a beautiful reminder of how generous these can be: transparent Ruby red, deceptively light frame, & strong aromatics of fresh picked cherries & menthol. Air & time tame the chunkier & rougher qualities, so a decent decant could really make it sing. Also some serious grip, though not the most layered or complex finish- after all, it’s a rosso.

Lean at the pop and pour. Took about an hour to open up. Translucent Ruby color. Beautiful red fruit on the nose and palate. Nice fruit/acid/tannin balance on the finish. This could definitely go a few more years.

Terrific Rosso - opens nicely with time. Rich buttery nose, overall not too fruity but well blended. Good spices, some tannin. Medium bodied and versatile, went fine with wood grilled lobster and grilled hangar steak. Overall very nice!

Dark rubi robe, nose of black fruits, flowers, tobacco and anise. Medium bodied wine on a ripe style, well done and good fit with food.
