Samsara Wine Co.
Santa Barbara County Syrah
Floral and gamey. The 14.2% alc. shows early. Beautiful color and concentration. Improves with air time and also gets more peppery. Identical to a baby deer trying to walk, ya know?

Sep 10th, 2016I’ve had Samsara Syrah before and was looking forward to a perfumed nose of violets and deep flavors of blueberries and blackberries backed up by muscular tannins. This bottle was different. Faint nose of something red, then mouthfuls of heavy flavor—tannic, yes, but also brambly and spicy. Reminded me of a California Zin/Syrah hybrid. Needed time to breathe and mellow. Very nice food wine to pair with beef. Had the 2017 vintage with steak tartare and boeuf bourguignon at Little Frenchie in Coronado, San Diego, CA.

Apr 3rd, 2022A deep, dark, murky, inky creature of a wine. Expresses powerful blackberry and blueberry fruit laced with ample nutmeg and pepper notes. Drinks full blooded and thick bringing out the carnivore in all of us.
Cheers!
