Zacary Welch

9.3

A true entry level benchmark of a Californian Pinot Noir done in the Burgundian style.
Clear, bright, and light in Garnet exhibiting delicate aromas of red currant, lightly composted leaves, jasmine, and cinnamon.
The wine finishes dry with an ample spice, fruit, and mocha finish.
If you are looking for Meiomi or the ilk, this is NOT your wine.

Wonderfully strong and decadent! This Malbec is a deep dark purple in color with a powerful core of blackberry and blueberry with an exterior edge of vanilla and light green stick notes. The palate is lush with these darker fruits notes finishing with an excellent fade of coffee and cocoa. — 10 years ago

6.9

This wine smells clean and youthful with a moderate intensity of soft Bosc pears, honey dew melon, and golden apple. The palate is dry with medium acidity and a powerful steely acidity that diminishes and distorts the wine's appealing nose.
With very little to offer this wine falls flat on flavor.

Buyer beware: this wine needs food to cut the intensity!
This Albariño is dry and full bodied with notes of apple and orange blossom finishing with a vibrant undercurrent of acidity and minerality.
For those looking for a casual wine to pair with fish tacos or shellfish on a Tuesday night, this is it. Personally I would opt for an Albariño from the area that does this varietal the absolute best which is Rias Baixas in Spain.

Based on the ratings of this wine this has gained some pretty good marks. And it certainly is a good choice for some ; just not me.
Heavily extracted with powerful notes of raspberry jam spiked with cinnamon.
The palate drinks off dry and jammy with ample spice and cola on the finish.
Drink with sweet or spicy bbq or anything with sweet marinades. OR a piece of toast. Just substitute the jam you would have used on the toast for this wine.

This wine is an excellent introductory red for those looking for the lightest of the light at a good price point.
A squeaky clean, delicate expression of Pinot Noir expressing approachable notes of raspberry, beets, and menthol. The wine drinks softly with red cherries and spice with a truly light frame of tannins finishing with notes of tea leaf.

If you are looking for an oaky, buttery Chardonnay with a zip, this is your wine.
Apple and pear mingle with intense American oak notes of caramel, butter, and spice notes that finish lengthy on the palate. The wine's backbone of acidity saves this from being a flat out butter bomb.
The wine's rich character and oak complements nicely with macadamia encrusted halibut. Yumm!

Blackberry, plum, and spice form the core of this deep dark bruiser of a Tempranillo. The palate contains classic black cherry and worn leather finishing lengthy with cola and coffee notes.
A truly delicious wine that should be consumed with a hearty lamb pasta or stew. Well done!

This bright ruby red from Spain is not a very serious wine. Consider this to be something casual for a Tuesday night.
There is not a whole lot of complexity here but the wine is approachable with abundant soft, red fruit, spice, and rose petal. The tannins are medium making this a terrific wine to buy in bulk if you are planning to throw a party.
Great value!

This wine is structured with silky tannins with pleasing notes of candied blackberries, blueberries, and red cherries balanced with lovely pepper and nutmeg spices.

Overall this wine deserves the rating because it is well integrated and delivers tremendous value for the price point.

Great wine to bring to a BBQ.
