Brut Blanquette de Limoux Mauzac Blend
Bright, clear straw gold. White, quickly dissipating mousse. Baked apple and straw on the nose and palate. Biright acidity. Medium-light body. A tasty sparkling bargain at around $13 ($10 in states that don’t run alcohol monopolies), and a nice opportunity to drink a bit of history.

Mar 21st, 2018During the month of January, the Wednesday Wine Committee has a unique format...the sparkler, whites and dessert wines can be from any vintage and any location, but the reds must be from the 2007 vintage. It was my first time providing a wine for a lunch, so I was excited to see how it showed. As always, all wines were served blind.
This was the sparkler and my guess was between west coast sparkler or a French non vintage. There was a lot of fruit on this, mainly green apple. Not chalky or yeasty.

Quite sweet but fresh. Served as a palate cleanser, somewhat successfully.

Jul 31st, 2018A new wine and new grape for me. Interesting history behind it. Hints of grass and apple with a creamy sift mouthfeel . Much richer than expected with nothing harsh. Very enjoyable while watching France win the cup!

Jul 15th, 2018Decent bubbly, wanted something nice but not Champagne spendy: this little gem was pretty good with a little red delicious apples and some citrus, had a trace of yeastiness but leaned heavily to a straightforward clean nervy style cutting through everything in its path. Not overly impressive as an Aperitif but fun for softer cheese/fruit/spreads
