Just tried another bottle and was blown away. Clear Ruby red color with aromas of red and black fruits and pleasant spice. The palate shows strawberry, cherry and sweet plums with vanilla spice. The finish had smooth tannins, and ended with oak on a good length. Very nice what a little age will do.

Always a solid Super Tuscan, but never knocking it out of the park, even at the winery.

It’s almost like clockwork - if my wife & I have a white wine for dinner she wants to end off on a red wine. More often than not it’s an Italian red that she wants. She pulled this selection off of her rack and I must say, it’s struttin’ its stuff. On the nose dense, supple dark fruits with dried tobacco leaves, cloves, espresso, dark chocolate shavings mixed with shaved black winter truffle, and mild notes of fig. On the palate concentrated yet graceful, drinking more like a comparatively aged Napa Cab than anything else. The tannins are well on their way to integration with only a slightly astringent mouthfeel (which I didn’t find off-putting in the least bit). This is a good wine that I think is drinking above its price point.

Good drinking #supertuscan though not too exciting. Medium tannins and tart cherry. 50% sangiovese, 25% cab, 25% merlot

Seductive. Dark berries, mocha, expresso, dark chocolate. Rich, smooth, blackberry fruit. Oak is noticeable but not overbearing. Dry tannins. Drink now or in the coming year. Just simply delicious wine.
