Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice legs
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, tobacco leaf, spices, graphite, bitter herbs, black tea and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is very tasty. Nicely balanced with nice complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Better after 2 hours of airtime, when it opens up and shows the tannins.
Wine Spectator 92 points. Robert Parker 90 points.
I enjoyed it, but expected more from this vintage. Although it could age nicely in the next 10 years, if you are expecting a Napa Cabernet taste, I'd recommend to drink it sooner rather than later.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

What a surprise. Thanks for the awesome recommendation @Ron R. I get dark fruit, vanilla and brown sugar on the nose. Vanilla and blackberries dominate the palate with mouth drying tannins and a nice acidity. Smooth and nice. I let it breathe in my glass (which means not long) and it definitely opened up after it had been opened for a while. This is really nice and got it for a steal on LB. Huge fan of Jeff Ames from Tor and delighted to try his own wine. Very nice. Will have to check out some of the single vineyard designates. Any suggestions from the group on which one to try for first? Happy New Year's Eve to all.

The palette is multi-layered with maraschino cherries, sandalwood, pears and rich fruit cake. Rudius is a go-to for us. Wifey score was 94 pts. I wasn't quite there, but I know my role. I'm a fashion accessory... sniff.

Mar 28th, 2016On the nose, I detect vanilla and maple syrup.
The palette is dominated with vanilla. Tannins are already integrated. Violets and pomegranate are there when you push through the vanilla. The juice finishes sweet, reminding me of Caymus. I was expecting something a little more precise, but still good.

Had a bottle this winter that, while good, seemed to lack structure. This bottle was much better. In fact, it was terrific and a great buy for the money. My wife especially loved it.
