Huge, bombastic nose of jam compote and soft oak.
On the palette, this is rich and dense. Ultra ripe mouthfeel, with balance and precision. Finishes with maraschino cherries and coffee notes. WOTN, but only just!

My last bottle of the 13s. It has been about 4 years, and this wine has now hit its stride. In my previous notes the wine was unbalanced. Now, with more age, and a 45 min decant, the wine is wonderfully balanced. Big ripe dark fruit, softened yet still powerful tannins, well matched acidity. Great mouthfeel and nice finish. Has been nice to see a wine through the years really develop.

Dec 18th, 2024My third bottle of the ‘13, this one about a year after my last. Each time it gets better. Fruit is big and ripe, black and blue. Tannins smooth. Structure is solid. Nice long finish. A short decant is still recommended.

Oct 18th, 2021Big fruit and oak on the nose. Cherry, blueberry, dense and oaky. Great structure! Tasting great now with still an hour decant.

Last of the Rudius tasting,
At this point Knockmore # 1
Farella #2 Kaley Elizabeth #3 & Panek # 4, all 2013's except for the Knockmore 2012. maybe with a few years of bottle age it will change 🤷♂️ but for now I would only buy Knockmore & Farella again.
Its not bad just not distinctive with so many other Cabernets out there in this price range,
