Just a few bottles from an awesome Open That Bottle Night celebration this past weekend.

So young, and that was after this being open an hour or so. Gripping. Currant, blackberry, plum and underripe black cherry. Tannic and powerful on the palate. This is still on an upward trajectory.

Last half bottle of 6 I bought years ago. At first, was a little dumb and tired, but with 10 minutes in the glass, it began to reawaken and come to life. Mint, cedar, and dark fruits bursting onto your palate. A delicious mouthful of complex new world flavors and textures, with a refined finish.

Really nice. Very youthful and vibrant. From a good vintage comes a really nice wine with lots of blackberry and ample weight in the front and sort of a truffle chocolate texture somewhere in the middle. Excellent structure. Hint of pepper on the finish. Tannins have really started to integrate in this wine but still with rather youthful influence here. Would go well with a nice filet mignon. I'd say it is definitely time to start consider drinking these if you have them although I think the structure is there to last another 5 to 7 years.

Great, structured but uncomplicated, outstanding US claret. Black currant, black cherry, licorice, with tobacco that lead to a massively solid structure. Easily has another 10-15 years. A long and tannic finish.

05' Rudd Estate Cabernet. Getting so close to a pop & pour. 2 great years in it. Edit - It started to fall apart that 3 hour.
