Nice all-around table wine. Wasn’t trying to pretend to be something it wasn’t. Blackberries, black cherry, mint and eucalyptus notes on palette. Tannins were a bit green. Could sit a few more years to soften out.

Stewed raspberry and red cassis. Micro fine tannins. Smoooooth. Pretty varietally correct overall.

Surprisingly strong showing from what I consider to be a second wine. A little gnarly on the approach, but still good.

Time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time it's a Napa Cabernet.
Deep ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Soft nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, metals, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, vegetables, earth and black pepper.
Full bodied, but not bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black plums, cherries, wood, spices, vanilla, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, spices, mocha, peppercorn, earth and licorice.
Nice length on the finish with round tannins and spices.
This is a great Cabernet. Not a typical Napa Cabernet, though. Showing nice complexity and balance, with some earthy notes and lots of black fruits. A great smooth mouthfeel.
Still young but already enjoyable even by itself. Will mature nicely in the next few years.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle.
Yummy with a teeth staining color.
I paired it with beef sliders and great company.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

This is lusciously delicious! Intensely aromatic: cassis, ripe peach, floral, blackberries, full body, round texture, long finish, rather complex and structured. Eucalyptus and licorice!!
