Signed Upshot bottle by winemaker Justin Seidenfeld. Excellent wine for the price. Punches above its weight. Notes of blackberry, black cherry, baking spices, cassis and menthol on the palette. Well rounded tannins.

Don’t ask me what’s in the background. I’ll never tell. The first sip on this wine was weird, but it could be because I’m drinking it out of an espresso cup. But again, I’ll never tell you why. So uhhhhh, it’s really good. It’s really California. And it might be psychological, but I can actually taste the Riesling on the finish. I think.

Interesting wine. 37pc Zin, 30pc Malbec, 27pc Merlot, 3pc PV, 3pc Riesling (!?). Violets, chocolate, cassis, elderflower. Bit of everything. Is everything too much? Not sure. #wbc18

Dark ruby hue. Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, cherry, earthy, leather, mint, plum, raspberry, and vanilla. Medium-plus body, with medium tannins and medium-plus acidity. Soft, rounded finish with a touch of oak. Blend of Merlot (31%), Zinfandel (31%), Malbec (30%), Riesling (5%), and Petit Verdot (3%).

Serves with Thai food. Medium bodied, nice mix between black cherry and a bit of a dryness.
