At the Filipino dinner at the Downs Club. Definitely an aged Riesling with a whiff of Kerosene. Aged in the Rockford Cellars. Still some citrus evident with low acid.

Opened about 6/7 bottles in a night
They went from badly corked to a marvelous gracely aged riesling
From lime peel , caramelised lemon to ginger, nutmeg or even hints of curry
A bunch of selected mixed herbs was there too: from sage to Thai mint, and so much more that I made a beautiful looking paint(in my mind at least)
Never too sweet and reasonably long aftertaste, which replicates the above notes again

On the nose, mild petro, white flowers, citrus peel, cream, stone fruit & melon. Palate is medium dry, tropicals; melon, guava, pineapple, fruit blossoms with a round, lush, nice acidity and medium intensity minerality.

Definitely showing that aged Riesling diesel note. Reduced acidity and citrus but still a welcome sip.

2005 Rockford hand picked Riesling Eden Valley, developed with aromas of cantaloupe melon, honey and raw sugar..fleshy. Fruit is slightly fading but still very fresh with its classic firm Eden Valley acidity. Acidity carries the wine well and seals it off nicely. 12.5%
