Funk right off the bat, but didn't take long to soften up. Beautiful for a 375ml

This maker is special to us because our friends stayed with this family at their agriturismo and had a wonderful time meeting them. This wine aged well too. After about an hour the tertiary flavors were more dominant, but up front it was in good form.

Started opening somewhat after an hour, but not as expressive as hoped. Tannins were in check tho.

2010 vintage. Deep ruby. Red cherry, herb and violets on the nose. On the palate, very primary - cherry, plum and sour cherry. Very concentrated, medium plus acidity, medium plus alcohol, and decent length on finish. Big tannins which are yet to integrate but will keep this wine in good shape for at least a decade. A baby with good potential. A crowd pleaser. Drink 2022+

Quite different from what we're used to (we are the full-bodied fruity type), this nebbiolo wine from La Morra, north-western Italy, has toasted notes and intriguing aromas of tobacco leaf, roses and woodsmoke. It shows a beautiful brick-orange cast. Surprisingly good!
