Was still evolving as we finished the bottle. Dark cherry, licorice, good tobacco and some flint. Nice acidity and so fresh was hard not to gulp. Will get better and complex.

Had it January 2008.
Riserva. Neat fruit, perfect tannin, great drinkibility, well balanced, young still. At least a decade ahead,👍

I opened this magnum to go with out Sunday chicken. Three of the five of us at dinner had visited the winery together in 2009, and it seemed like the right occasion. No wine delivers the Gallestro message like this one, and I have never had a Brunello that comes close to the level of Mr. Ricasoli's wines. This is layered, complex, inimitable Tuscan stuff that should keep for decades to come.

Pork, truffles and a 10 year old bottle of my favorite Tuscan wine... Made better by enjoying it at my favorite restaurant with Cinnamon! So much galestro complexity, powerful black cherry Sangiovese fruit and acid that was electric!
