Roberts + Rogers
Louer Family St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
The individual components are all there, but the oak treatment is not aligned with the fruit profile. Way to much wood on the nose and palate. Winemaker snatched defeat from the jaws of victory here.

Oct 25th, 2020Bold berry forward. Tannins still biting. Needed some time to find its profile.

Aug 5th, 2019I like this. Old school. Bright nose. Lots of classic graphite. Drips with vibrant sour black fruit.

Nov 1st, 2017Last wine I had from R+R was their 08 Howell Cab when they came to the Fort Worth Club back in 2012 as a part of the Taste of Howell Mountain. This wine most certainly didn't disappoint. Deep, dark maroon pour. Concentrated ripe blackberry and fleshy nose. The entry is acidic, fruit was more concentrated blackberry preserves. Middle is a touch smoky. Finish is toasted tannin, moderately acidic, yet surprisingly rounded. Nice wine. 2013 was rated 95 I believe. This one I would probably put a little lower than that.

May 18th, 2016Thanks to Drake Sneed for the bottle! First time trying. Needed more open time (my fault), but would love to try again in a few years time.
