Such a fun one—there’s a hint of VA when freshly opened but it blows off and reveals hownalice this wine is. Notes of mixed berries you buy in the frozen aisle at the grocery store and let thaw for a pie.

Gorgeous work by an indigenous maker. Fresh, earthy, bright red berries, unfiltered yet elegant. Felt like I was sitting by a mountain stream on a hot day. Yum.

My first experience with the Pais varietal. Dry farmed, unfined, unfiltered. Surprisingly low ABV @ 11.5%. From the bio-bio Valley of Chile#. Really like the texture on this wine, simple and straightforward.

Didn’t enjoy it, but I sort of get what it’s going for. Very “natural”. Never had the varietal before - Pais. Bit of fizz and sulfury funk on pop, which subdued, but didn’t quite come together for me.

Another fun southern Chilean pais from Roberto Henriquez. On the lighter side, cranberries and earthy. A little too tart but grows on me quickly.

After an hour, there’s a nice cranberry flavor in the attack, but the finish is so harsh that it is hard to stomach this wine.

Was not a fan. Earthy and sour.

Good cranberry juice infused with alcohol and a dusting of earth. Can definitely chill this. Enjoyed with a pork chop.
