Pajè Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Deep cherry, tobacco and rose petal. Somehow an unexplainably transparent sense through the dense grip and structure.

Really fantastic Barbaresco but definitely overshadowed by the Rioja that night. And with the dried rose petals, cigar box, tobacco. Didn't have as much acidity as I was hoping but man, this was a great bottle of wine.

The 2009 seemed a bit past its prime midway through 2024. Some lovely fruit and minerality marred by prune/raisin flavors. Disappointing.

For a wine and vintage some describe as approachable or light, the 2009 (drunk in 11/20) was very closed when it first hit the glass. It softened quickly, giving up some dark, leathery, earthy scents and eventually baking spices on very subtle fruit. The last glass, 24 hours after the first, may have been the best - as some floral elements and more nuanced fruit came out.

Tighter then my brother when the check arrives

Medium-bodied, very nicely spiced, with an earthy Piemonte quality. The wine seems quite open/evolved (375ml).

Brings that tannins to the party! Very smooth too. The color is dark but has a pretty copper-y hue. Love it! #yum

Another beaut from one of the best.

Good. Still a little tight bit opened up nicely after about 30 minutes.
