Rizzi
Nervo Barbaresco Nebbiolo
Almost too tannic to drink without food. Needs at least 5-6 years. (Glad I have a few more bottles though.)

Oct 30th, 2016Translucent garnet with bricking at the edges. The nose is tight but offers some red cherry, dusty cedar, spice, and anise as it unfolds. Tart red fruit and mineral on the palate with very good persistence. Medium+ body with high acidity, robust fine grained tannins, and 14.5% alcohol. Aged in large neutral oak barrels and then concrete. Still very young but nicely complimented homemade Italian pizzas. $39.

Feb 21st, 2018Really fantastic after 5 hours of decanting. The first few hours this was closed and pure tan in. Now it is opening up with beautiful dried herbs on the nose, blueberries as well. Great texture in the mouth with cherries, lavender, hint of tobacco. Very bright. Will definitely not open the other bottles for 5+ years.
