Rivers-Marie
Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Anderson Valley, North Coast, California, USA

2018 Rivers Marie Pinot from Anderson Valley is pretty approachable. Medium bodied, purple fruit. Very nice.

Had to follow up the Rhys version with the Rivers Marie bottling of the same. This has the same profile but is just slightly rounder and finishes with a bit of creaminess in addition to the bright red fruit that sails on.

Well made with complex fruit, red, black and blue- but far from a traditional Pinot. Medium+ body. Alc+. Oak, vanilla.

Anderson valley at its best. I love these rivers Marie pinots. Restraint is the name of the game. Beautiful nose of Asian plum, deep forest floor and bittersweet chocolate. Super well balanced and just a classy wine overall. For the price it can't be beat

Had to try the new Anderson Valley next. 100% Bearwallow fruit. Its not as open or inviting as the SC is now. Brighter fruit, more acidity than other RM wines. Hold these for a year or two.

2016, super tight right now with a little of that Anderson Funk. Warm strawberries are starting to show as this opens up. I got this a little early so I reccomned to others let this sit

Feb 1st, 2018Love everything from Rivers-Marie. Distinctive style emphasizing purity of fruit and elegance. Fruit is from parcels on the edge of the Bearwallow vineyard. Brambly red and purple fruit with notes of white flower, white pepper, and a touch of eucalyptus. Complex and elegant. Suggest cellaring for 5 -7 years to get the full experience. 2018 vintage on Mar 26, 2020

The least successful RM Pinot I’ve had. Too simple and somewhat thin. I believe this was also the lowest critically rated.

Dec 27th, 2018Drinking the 2015 in 2018. Plum color with excellent clarity. Long thin legs. Bouquet is rich with cassis and deep dark berry. Flavor is rich with oak and pepper for a Pinot. Smooth with low tannins. Great wine!
