From a not-so-great year, but this is really nice. I just love this winery. Nose has dark, tart chokecherry, intense gravelly minerality, a bit of spice. Medium bodied and on the leaner side, the flavors are bright and clingy. Tannins soft and in check, unlike some other rather astringent and green ‘17s. Textbook.

For the price, simply over delivers. Straight forward bright red fruit, juicy acidity and a nice finish that paired well with pasta.

Real frame, real body. Secondary, tertiary notes coming out with age. . . Moss, funk, tobacco. Black cherry - spice - texture. Still fresh. Lingering tannins, med to med+ acid. Excellent.

Mar 17th, 2018Probably my #1 Chianti estate. So fragrant and elegant. Nose has pure macerated cherry fruit, deep gravelly minerality, dried flowers and sweet spices. Lean, pure, and flavorful, with clingy intense cherry and ridiculous inner mouth aromas. Medium-full body and crisp acids on the long finish. (Not sure if I’m being objective here because of the estate.)
