Ridge Vineyards
Lytton East Hills Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend
Going Bigly for ByeDon! Too early to call, but I know this wine will be better tomorrow. And so will America.

Nov 4th, 2020Ridge nailed this one! Lytton East Hills is a zin, petite sirah blend. It starts out carried by a big wave of PS fruit and folds under a slightly sweet zin. And just keeps repeating... getting better into a 3rd night. I'm losing my other bottle in the back of the cellar anticipating future awesomeness. (Not sure delectible has this labeled correctly even after review).

Aug 19th, 2018Exclamation. Dark, inky. Nose reveals ripe bluberry and raspberry, dry cedar. Palate is layers and layers, the Petite Sirah pivoting to the front for dominating presence. Integrated new oak, dark berry fruit, diverse mid palate with forest floor and mint. Finish is tannic, dry, and firm. Drinking fabulously, but a few years will reveal hidden treasures.

Mar 16th, 2018Rockstar juice. Fruit is still wonderfully ripe and pure, leaning towards black raspberry and cherry. Secondary notes of moss, leather, and dill that gain momentum and intensity with air. This could pomerol if not for the juiciness. Still another five years to go at least.

Feb 22nd, 2019Still young and showing a lot of structure for aging. Fruit is still overpowered by the tannins. Should have waited 5 years 😅

Jun 10th, 2018Embarrassed to say I don’t really remember this one. Thankfully I have two more bottles in the cellar to revisit in the future.
