Dark, brooding and intense. Garrigue and earthy fruit dominate. This has an intense and focused mid palate with a touch of tar and iodine. A little bit blocky and rustic, but still in good shape. A bit disappointing given a high price this now commands.

Fully resolved but absolutely gorgeous. Still a touch of fruit leather. If anybody doesn't believe in the ageability of California wines - this would certainly take them to task. Firm acid, incredibly plush tannins and a finish that just won't quit. And for you visual folks - surprising clarity. Yes please.

Pretty amazing piece of California history. Held up well - smoky, meaty, anise. Blinded it as a Santa Cruz Cab, never could have imagined I was drinking one this old!
