Rhys Vineyards
Alpine Vineyard Chardonnay
A tasting of nine Rhys Chardonnays spanning 2007-2019. Great acid, still so fresh, Burg-like.

Feb 13th, 2016My personal favorite in an '03-'13 Alpine Chard vertical. Svelte, minerally, salty. The '12 will become this with a few more years bottle age!

May 27th, 2017Wonderful complexity, nimble and subtle and finely balanced, it is excellent now but has a bright future left.

Jan 21st, 20172007 vintage. Just fantastic. Ready to go but no rush. Not as rich as later vintages.

Dec 28th, 2015Tighter and less flamboyant than the 2005 Jadot Corton-Charlemagne tasted with it, but it more than holds its own. A little smokey bacon on the nose leads to great minerality and subtle complexity, it opened up quite a bit with air and would benefit from decanting Very impressive.
