Way too much oak. Ripe, but not extremely so. Finish was good.

At the opening of the bottle a rush of clean sweet ripe strawberry rushes over my face to follow with juicy raspberries then dusty soil on a warm summer day. There is also a hint of smokey oak with a bit of caramel. In the mouth it opens with the good red fruits with a sense of minerality. There is firm ripe tannins and the fruit continues on with a good long finish that ends with wet stones. Not a bad wine at all.

Rex you son of a bitch, you've done it again! Rex Hill is my new alias when I am pretending to be a private investigator.

Sipping Fine Wine

Ruby with aromas dark red fruits and floral spice. On the palate black cherry, blackberry and plum flavors with cedar, pepper and vanilla spice. Big, yet soft tannins, long finish well balanced with acidity ending with fruit, cedar and floral spice. Nice!

Begins with a very endearing nose that is full of earthy notes of mushroom, dried leaves, and smoke with a background of cherry & cranberry. However, on the palate, the fruit takes center stage with copious amounts of cherry, with hints of cola, vanilla and allspice which carry into an enjoyably long finish. Paired perfectly with baked salmon en papillote, and a lovely dinner with @Monica Le. ($28) [2/23/18]

Good heft. Pure red and black fruit. Red and black cherries. Finish holds on for a goo 30 seconds. Yum.

Black cherry, deep in color. Very fresh slightly tannic. This could most definitely be a Kim wine!
