Boisterous and full- flavored. Nose has loads of balsamic and deep foresty notes. Dark, macerated plummy cherry fruit. Nose just leaps out of the glass. In the mouth, still tastes pretty youthful, with an athletic feel. Iodine, earth, tons of liquid minerally notes. Fruit is not the focus. Acids and tannins are assertive but balanced. I love this winery. Such a great value.

Lively and very classical nose. Tart cherry, violets, almost limestoney gravel (not sure if there’s actually limestone in the Rufina soil, but whatever), spice. Intense flavors. The cherry fruit is ridiculous, but shows some savory stuff as the long finish evolves. Some chalky, fine tannin. Very nice acidity. What a value!

Insert pretentious wine notes here. It was great, well balanced slightly earthy with dark cherries on the back end, but not overly fruity. Local store had it for $15, a damn good bargain for the quality,

Solid Chianti. No real notes here- I was too busy cooking.
