Light and perfumed, violets and pepper—a nice intro to northern rhone, somewhere in between guigal and the Levets of the world on the polished vs rustic spectrum

Deep, savory, lean, perfumed dark red fruits with dusty tannin yet light invigorating acidity

Light on its feet. Silky and already well integrated. Really great now, even better in 10 years. Very floral and perfumed, feminine and distinct. Blue fruit core with caraway seed like spice to it. Black pepper and smoke linger. Awesome stuff.

From 375ml bottle at French Laundry. Beautifully aromatic with clean acidity and fresh berry fruit. A delight if a bit immature.

Traditional but great Cote Rotie 2012 from a master of 44 vintages; Rene Rostaing; deeply brooding, big colour but tannin elegance including all stalk #coterotie #syrah #rostaing #rhone #uncorkedandcultivated #wineandfoodtour #france2015

Awesome. Herbs and pepper. Elegant and lighter bodied for Syrah. Lovely Rotie.

Blueberries, herby notes, and some bacon fat. Quite tight at this point. More blueberries on the palate with some herbs and a hint of cream. Full bodied with medium - acid and some velvety tannins on the finish. Quite young and needs some time to evolve in the cellar.
