Aug 22nd, 2019Very modern. Lots of new oak. If it weren't for the nice streak of acidity you may think this is new world. It was a little out of balance to start but opened up nicely with about 30 minutes of air. Turned from oaky to flinty and minerally but maintained the rich oily fruit throughout. Paired with rich, creamy food this would be lovely. On its own I may go a different direction... regardless, well made and intriguing wine with lots of character but little potential for further development

Nov 25th, 2018Interesting. The cork said Chassagne 1er Chenevottes, but the label just said Chassagne. Good underlying material, but slightly corked!
