Guests brought this to dinner. Very bold, tons of vanilla. 42% Sangiovese, 33% cab sauv, 25% Merlot. Claims to be in the super Tuscan style.

In the glass this wine is deep dark burgundy with slightly orange-tinged halo. It smells masculine and earthy with hints of pepper, cedar, blueberries and anise seed. The wine goes down easy even with the noticeable presence of rich tannins. The balance is nice, keeping it interesting as the finish lingers. I taste oak-y dark cherries with an aftertaste of black licorice. I think this is some good medicine. I need another dose.

Always a nice bottle. Ruby color and medium body with blackberry, boysenberry, dark cherry, sour cherry, a bit of licorice and spice. Juicy acidity and a stout tannic backbone. Still time on this one, I think.

Fantastic nose of dark fruits, earthy cellar. Full concert from beginning to end with fruit balancing the tannins and a lingering finish.
