Delicate and delicious. Nose has brambles, wild cherry, a whiff of walnut, and gravel. Flavorful but light on its feet, it has a purity of dark cherry fruit that lingers in a long finish. Got some fine grained tannin for a bit of aging. Very nicely done cool climate Cab Franc. Worked well with the Thanksgiving turkey.

A surprising wine - more the color of Pinot Noir than a classic cab Franc but so aromatic and elegant. Medium ruby, gorgeous nose of violet, leather, black olive, forest floor and blackberry.
Medium plus acidity, very long finish

Nice combo of bright fruit and earth, light but balanced structure, good concentration.

This is a stellar wine. Light in color, powerful but not dense. Blasts of cherry fruit and a touch of dolcetto like bitterness on the finish in a good way. Will be better in a year or 2.

From a ripe vintage in the Finger Lakes, this beautiful single vineyard Cab Franc is one of my favorites from the Finger Lakes and my favorite red from Red Newt. Notes of ripe black cherry, pomegranate, raspberry and red licorice as well as hints of forest floor. new leather and smoke; smoke being a hallmark of the Glacier Ridge Vineyard. The oak is prominent on this with notes of cedar and cinnamon. Structurally, this wine was medium body, medium plus acid and medium to low tanning. Great food wine.

Cherries, blackberries, spices, hints of tobacco. Drinks like a Hungarian red.

Overwhelmed by oak. Too bad, I think there's some cab franc under there somewhere.
