Raul Pérez
Sketch Albariño
Raul Perez + scarcity (less than 150 cases) + underwater aging makes for a unique Albariño. I’m so glad @Mike R help me finally try this wine.
Tangerine x10! Aromatically, this comes across as an uber ripe Sancerre or Cali super SauvBlanc. Melon, limestone, citrus, mineral aromatically. Super nervy acidity with tangerine notes all over. Tart tropical fruits, gritty lemon/lime, white peach. Lengthy finish. Would be great with a mango chutney/mango pico over ceviche type dish. Albeit ripe, I still would have totally missed this if guessing blind.

Served just above cellar temp. Tropical explosion on the nose. Banana skin melds with pineapple and butterscotch on the palate. You also experience the typical waxy signature that the best Albariños present.

Apr 17th, 2021Serve this just below cellar temperature. Not too cold. Incredible stuff from @Mike R
Sep 24th, 2020Best Albarino I’ve ever had. Like to thank my very good friend @Mike R for getting me a 6-pack.

Aug 13th, 2020I reluctantly say this - this wine is so damn good or as @David L says “I don’t like - I LOVE IT!”
BTW - this wine crazy complex- decant or not - chilled or room temp - it changes and seems to adapt so well
I say reluctantly because getting this wine is like getting a Masters golf ticket in the US - extremely hard to get

Raul Perez Sketch 2010. Lemon candy, white flowers, peach, apricots, papaya, mango, sea breeze, with slight hint of oak. Unctious texture with flavors of peach, apricots, pineapple, mango, citric peel, refreshing acidity, well integrated creamy vanilla, long lasting steely finish. Very Montrachet like!
