Whoa. This was really a pleasant surprise and easily the greatest Bobal I’ve had the pleasure to taste thus far. Dark brambles, black pepper, anise, smoked meat on the nose. The attack is sweet crunchy red and dark fruits and pie spices but make no mistake, this is bone dry. Finishes with a zip and strong, tongue smacking tannins. The purity of this wine is arresting. 15.5% abv. This is a burly monster. Right now it is clumsy. Maybe in time it will integrate, but right now not much to love here.
