It’s interesting. I don’t necessarily think that alone makes it good, but I enjoyed it with dinner.

So heavy on that 10 Viura but maderized beautiful. Rosy, marzipan, lavender and yet wet earth. Triumphant. Hot as fuck.

The 2009 ‘Gran Reserva’ Rose by Vina Tondonia is an impressive blend of 60% Garnacho with 30% Tempranillo and 10% Viura. This beautiful Rose wine was aged for four years in American oak and another five years in the bottle. On the nose this opens with bright red fruits with blood orange and wild mushroom that are wrapped around toasty oak in the glass. The palate is silky smooth, revealing a seductive texture and a bright minerality with a brilliant beam of salinity. Remarkably light on its feet, this ‘Gran Reserva’ unveils beautiful red fruits and suggestions of kumquat and teaberry with peat moss undertones. Highly novel and complex, simply put, there is nothing like this wine. While delightful now this will age gracefully for at least another decade. Drink 2019-2029- 94

I heard this wine is rare or something!? Delicious! Very vinous and structured with an incrediblely persistent finish. Really no oxidative notes whatsoever which I wasn't expecting because that flavor does typically show up on their aged white wines. 🇪🇸

Powerhouse of resinous, herbal and spice aromas. Dried flower, potpourri, figs, orange peel, spiced herbal tea with essential oils and tar in the background. Heredia and Musar are definitely the leading purveyors of this style, though this is Heredia’s first rosado in several years and very highly anticipated. It does not disappoint.

Pale copper-tinged orange. A powerfully scented bouquet evokes orange zest, red currant, rose oil, cinnamon and smoky minerals. Juicy and precise on the palate, offering intense red berry and citrus fruit flavors along with hints of honey, vanilla and candied flowers. Deftly blends power and finesse and shows no rough edges. The mineral and floral notes carry strongly through an impressively long finish that displays outstanding clarity and spicy cut. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, June 2018)
