Decided to pop one of these on the eve of our evacuation from the Carmel fire in California. Beautiful color! Notes of coffee and mocha with dark plum and cassis. The nose gets beautifully candied with terschiary aromas of smoldering madrone wood, tobacco and cedar. I can’t believe how amazing this is at 30+ years old and less expensive than the current vintage. I can part with some @ $39 if anyone wants. also have a large selection of other old port available at great prices... alex@nolimitfinewines.com

Quinta de la Rosa is one of the few true "Single Quintas" it is not a second brand used by most large shippers for their "off Vintage" port years. Aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate plum and bright cherry fruit flavors, well balanced with acidity, very fresh taste from a year not declared by most houses. Lingering finish, good tannin backbone ending with cacao and sweet fruit tones.

A complex, mineral-driven style with real subtlety.

Great with random pastries. The guy who rated this low 80s is a tool.

This was my first mature Port, or vintage, so I didn't know what to expect. It seemed fresh, and the only sign of age I could detect was the intense concentration of sweetness. Cherries on the nose and milk chocolate covered maraschino cherries on the palette. It was drinking very nicely and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Tannic and young-tasting, but love it anyway. Touches of caramel, leather and licorice.

Can be in the bottle for twenty years. Nice, again not over powered by alcohol. Would be great with chocolate.
