Last night I had the pleasure of opening the 2012 Quilceda Creek CVR Red Wine. Columbia Valley Snohomish, Washington. A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, herbs, spice, licorice, vanilla and dark soil.

On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, herbaceous, green bell pepper and rich dark soil.

This wine is full bodied witha mediul+ acidity and medium+ fine grained firm tannins which moves you into a long black fruit earthy finish. Please have a safe and healthy week ahead and we will see you on the coming weekend. Nostrovia! šŸ·šŸ·šŸ·šŸ·

CVR should be QPR. Stunning for a "second" wine.

Great QPR (if that term applies to a $30+ bottle?).
Very enjoyable at this early point but should have enough stuffing to see age 20+ without letting you down.

Impressive, with a sense of balance even with its overall scale & high abv.

Tonight's tasting: group ranked 1 of 4. Aromas of black pepper and cherry. Nice round rich black fruits. Tasted older and better than the 2011 and nearly as good as its big brother. Yes, 2012 was a great year, but it doesn't hurt that this wine has a great pedigree.
