Tonight I thought I would try a wine that a friend asked me to try. The 2015 Projection Winemakers Cut from Napa Valley. This is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Sirah.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, herbs, black pepper, red man pouch tobacco and earth.

On the palate there is a sweetness to the wine with notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, chocolate, cedar, oak and earth.

This wine is full bodied with medium to medium + acidity and medium fine tannins which lingers with a medium to medium+ dark fruit finish. Not a bad wine by any means but at this price point is a very drinkable wine. Here we come into another weekend and the nights seem to be a lot longer even though we are on the other side of the summer solstice. I hope everyone is doing well? Please be safe and stay healthy. Unexpected delight. Decanted and allowed to breathe for about half an hour. Deep ruby color, good legs. Fragrant, fruity nose. First sip was meh. Second sipā€¦it sprang to life. Rich cherry and blackberry. Hints of oak, vanilla, and cocoa. Tannins mellowed out and the acidity softened. Thought this was going to just an okay wine. I ended up enjoying it more than I thought. Would happily purchase again.

Tasted of cherries/plum. I wasnā€™t crazy about this particular Cabernet.

Didnā€™t realize this was from Lodi šŸ˜’ more of a red blend than a cab

A nice fruit forward wine. Not extremely special, but a pleasent wine to drink. Definitely will buy it again.
