This was tight and linear on opening but plenty of acid, fruit and good color. The secondary/tertiary notes came out with an hour or two of time. Lots of mushroom and sous bois behind a solid core of dark cherry fruit with hints of leather and spices.

This kicked off quite a bit of sediment during double decanting and would suggest giving at least 4-6 hours before drinking. Dark cherry, raisin, and carob flavors with still a surprising amount of fruit and structure for a wine almost 40 years old!

Both @DLynn Proctor and the 78 were very much alive, the produttori the more serious of the two

Great vintage, although wine is in decline unsurprisingly. Transparent with trademark bright red cherry taste. Acidity fairly prominent in a mouth watering way. Dusty tannins which did calm down after 15 mins in the glass. Interesting more than enjoyable.
